1) September 11th- Ian had to make a big decision and he chose army over carefree life thats at least a year away from you're family ( you get to see them occasionally but not for very long). He had to deal with injuries and this wasn't easy for him. Ian also had to deal with the emotional stain knowing his friends were close and he couldn't just hang out at anytime .
September 12th- Ian went for a ciggarette break and that turned into tortures pushups, another lesson that had to be taught. Ian got to go to the mall with his girlfriend kayla witch was probably the highlight of his week. May 5th Ian got an ankle injury and had to hobble around. Ian broke up with his girlfriend Kayla.
September 13th-Ian and new girlfriend Devin reunite at a welcome home celebration at Fort Carson. Ian got to be his Squads leader during while responding to an overturned vehicle. Ian had to do a written test for a promotion. He soon got frustrated while taking his test. Ian gets to make phone call with a friend back in Colorado and he obviously misses him. Ian and girlfriend Devin apply for a barrage license in August 24 2009.
2) Ian's motivation for joining the Army was as he put it "In it for god and Country" also he wanted to go into the Army when it was really bad in Iraq so he could help.
3) He had a lot of injuries one of them was an injury to his elbow.
4) He found it difficult to be an hour from his carefree friends living a care free life while he was struggling on a day to day basis.
5)When he had a mid tour break and returned home to Denver he realized how cold it was because he had been in the Iraq heat for so long.
6) Ian was a very playful person and being in the Army you have to be very serious and they break you down and make and mold you into a war machine and for a playful personality thats got to be hard.
